You're not looking at that image wrong. It is in fact a black box. Letterboxing footage is something that I find myself constantly doing. I would constantly download these off the web whenever I needed them; however, they were annoying as had to do it individually. In addition, many want you to pay for them. Here, we aren't gonna do that unless you want to. You can download these ratio bars at the exact size you need them, These are all PNGs so they can work in nearly every NLE editor.
